Booking Terms and Conditions for Wallsend Guest House

A deposit is required to secure all bookings and is non-refundable in the event of cancellation.

All prices are inclusive of  breakfast.

All rooms are ensuite.

The Guest House is strictly non-smoking.

Children over 5 years of age are welcome.

Check in is from 16:00 to 18:00  

Guests are responsible for any damage or loss caused to us or our property by their behaviour, omission, default or neglect and guests agree to indemnify us and to pay us on demand the amount reasonably required to make good or remedy any such damage or loss.

We require all guests to comply with all legal regulations such as health and safety, fire precautions, no smoking policy and others requirements that enhance the comfort and wellbeing of our guests. We reserve the right to terminate your booking immediately without being liable for any refund or compensation where you or your guest/s engage in unacceptable behaviour that causes a disturbance or nuisance to other guests.

Wallsend Guest House Cancellation Policy

Due to the high demand for accommodation in the area, and the lead time of the bookings we receive, it is not possible to replace cancellations at short notice.

We therefore operate a clear Cancellation Policy which applies to all guests whether booking individually or through a tour company.

Introduction

Wallsend Guest House offers high quality bed and breakfast accommodation in a quiet village location.  The building was once the rectory for the neighbouring church, and as such is of traditional construction. It has over an acre of wooded gardens which are landscaped around tall pine and yew trees.   The parking area is pebbled and stone steps lead to the front door.  All guest bedrooms are en-suite and are located upstairs.  The guests lounge and dining room are on the ground floor.   There is no provision for wheelchair access.

 
Pre-Arrival

• Wallsend Guest House has its own website www.wallsend.net which offers information about the accommodation, services and local are .  We advise pre-booking well in advance, as during the season the accommodation is very much in demand


• We are situated 7 miles from Wigton which is the nearest town offering the closest cash machines, petrol stations, shops, chemists etc.  The nearest    Accident and Emergency department is at Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle


• The nearest Shopmobility scheme is in Wigton, as is the nearest Radar toilet


• Wallsend Guest House offers full Wi-Fi access for guests.


• A public bus service (Stagecoach 93) to Carlisle (15 miles away) runs through the village six days per week.

 
• Local taxi companies operate fares to Carlisle by arrangement


• Baggage transfer companies operate regularly in the area e.g Walkers Bags,  

   Hadrians Haul, Sherpa


• Information about the accommodation can be provided in large print as required

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• There is ample free car parking for guests at the front of the property, surfaced in gravel/pebbles


• There are stone steps up to the front door but no ramp or rails


• There is an entrance gate which is kept closed at all times, and doorbell at the front door


• The telephone number for the guest house is clearly visible on signage at the front of the property,  An   emergency number is on display in the property     for guests.


• There is good provision for dogs with a separate exercise area


• Bags can be portered from vehicles to and from bedrooms

 
• There is external lighting to the front of the property to assist arrival

 

·      Check in is after 16:00 and check out by 10:00.  Other times by prior arrangement

 
Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area

• Guests are met by the hosts on arrival at the front door and are asked to complete a Registration Card.

 
• The entrance hall and guest area is well lit.  Guests step up on sandstone flags from the porch into the hall.   Seating is provided.  The step from porch to  hall is taped with anti slip chevron hazard tape.


• A computer is available to all guests with Wi-Fi access.

 
• Keys to the bedroom door and front door are issued on arrival


• Guests are introduced to the property and a Welcome Book is provided in each bedroom with emergency procedures, menus and local information

 
• Tariffs are clearly displayed


• Service dogs are well provided for with food, water, shower facilities and bedding, as well as an exercise area.   All dog guests receive and welcome pack.

 
Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc

• The staircase is in three sections with a galleried landing

 
• There is no lift to the first floor

 
• Areas are carpeted throughout.  The décor is sympathetic to the style of the building


• Guests may use the business telephone on request.  There a cordless phones for ease of access.

• There are no adapted toilet or bathroom facilities available

• The living areas are of homely style - well lit, carpeted and domestic in nature

• There are no lifts to the first floor.  The staircase is wide, but split into three sections with a galleried landing area. There is a solid oak bannister

• There is one communal toilet in the downstairs cloakroom for guests use as required

 
Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Bar area, Take Away & Cafe

• The guests dining room is off the main hall. There is a small step down into the room from the hall and the kitchen access.  Chevron anti slip safety tape   has been applied to these steps.


• The dining room is well-lit


• Seating and tables are movable


• Menus can be modified according to individual needs


• The house and its premises are strictly no smoking areas


• Picnics may be taken in the grounds

 
Bedrooms & Sleeping Areas

• There are no bedrooms or bathrooms suitable for wheelchair users


• All rooms have Freeview satellite televisions with remote controls, also radio alarm clocks


• Electric blankets are available on request.  Each bathroom has a electric shaver point.

 
• Each room has a cordless kettle with level indicator

 
• There is a fridge for guests on the landing adjacent to bedrooms

 
• Anti allergy bedding can be provided


• Dog bedding can be provided

• Fire procedures are well signed
