"We stayed here after the last day of our Hadrian's Wall walk, and it was a lovely, relaxing place to stay. The staff were really welcoming, with tea on arrival. Rooms looked newly decorated, and were spacious with modern bathrooms, with great toiletries. Breakfast was brilliant, and the B&B has a minibus to take you back to Carlisle if necessary. "

"We stayed at this delightful 5-bedroom guesthouse at the start of our West to East Hadrian"s Wall trek. We arrived later than expected, and were greeted by one of the dogs (the Wallsend is pet friendly) and Lyn getting us coffee, sodas, and a choice of cakes even though the tearoom was closed. It was perfect after 5 hours of driving. The rooms are comfortable, immaculately clean, and all are en suite. Our bathroom was the largest I"ve seen in England and looked to be brand new. Would definitely stay here again "

"We stayed for one night while cycling Hadrian's Cycleway. On arrival we were given complimentary cake and coffee which was very welcome after 70 miles of cycling. The room was beautiful, really well equipped with fantastic toiletries and a great ensuite. The breakfast choices were the best I've ever had - I opted for eggs benedict! This B and B is beautiful, the staff were all really friendly and helpful and the quality of the food was outstanding. If you want a luxury B and B with lovely staff and great food this is the place to come! "

"Great place. Lovely spotlessly clean, big bedroom with lovely en-suite bathroom. The breakfast was lovely also with lots of choice. We received a very warm welcome when we arrived both times ( we left our car there for the week whilst we walked ) from Alice who made drinks for us. Would totally recommend this guest house, was also impressed with how well the garden is maintained. "

"Walking west to east, a couple of pensioners stayed at Wallsend Guest House before tackling the ups and downs of the Hadrian Wall Trail. Our welcome could not have been warmer. Information and advice about the walk was available. And the thought of returning to the comforts of Wallsend sustained us as we trudged through the rain to the other Wallsend before hopping onto a bus back to Bowness-on-Solway. We were pleased to have paced our walk so that we could reach our final b&b at a reasonable hour! Hearty breakfasts, clean rooms, comfortable beds. We hope to return! "

"This is my 6th visit to the guesthouse and as always it was a wonderful, relaxing stay. I was staying in the WigWams this visit and the staff could not be more helpful and made sure i had everything i needed. I was there for a week and made full use of the tea rooms and although i wasn't able to try all of the cakes on offer the ones i did try were yummy ! I'll be back again next year. "

"For those that like an amount of the above let me tell you that this place is a Little Gem, and I'm not talking about lettuce. I don't accept praise, nor do I lavish it on others, but had Wallsend Guest House been our first night instead of our last walking east to west along the trail we would probably not have gone anywhere else. "

"Absolutely recommended” After 6 days of walking Hadrian's Wall, we arrived at the Wallsend Guesthouse tired and exhausted. We were pleased to received a warm welcome; we were brought tea, coffee and homemade cakes. Room was spacious and well appointed with a good sized bathroom. Breakfast (vegetarians fully catered for) was very good. The environment was relaxed and friendly with the right level of professionalism. We would love to stay again and would recommend to friends and family. "

"This was one of the best nights stay during our walk of Hadrians Wall. Fantastic great room with a welcome bath after 6 days walking. Very quiet location. Staff very friendly. Breakfast very good with a great choice."

"“The Best B & B On The Wall” A close call but this just won a strong race in our opinion. Everything about the accommodation was very good indeed: we had TWO ranges of luxury bath goods, foot lotions etc. Good. extra large fluffy towels. The welcome tea and scones were delicious. The beds were huge and beautifully sheeted and pillowed. The breakfast: wow! The welcome was a genuine Northern understated charm. I wish we could have stayed longer. What a pity that our two nighter was at the other end of the walk. "

"We were very fortunate to spend 3 nights at this wonderful B&B. It is ideally situated for walking Hadrian's Wall. Our room was very clean and spacious and had a lovely view of the large, beautiful garden. Lynn and all of her staff are welcoming, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is delicious, plentiful and there are lots of things to choose from. We would also recommend the packed lunches which are great value for money. We appreciated all of the little extras such as the well stocked tea tray, toiletries and access to a wealth of maps, books and magazines. We would highly recommend Wallsend and will definitely visit again at some point. Thank you to everyone at Wallsend for helping us to enjoy a lovely, relaxing holiday. "

"We needed a bed for the night whilst attending 'Clayfest' and the nearby tavern suggested this delightful guest house which has been renovated to the highest standards one might wish for the price quoted and with every possible need provided for in advance and every new request dealt with likewise. The bedroom was very comfortable and the 'tea tray' had the best selection we have ever encountered - even coffee bags as seen on 'Dragons Den'. The Wallsend achieves the highest possible standards - at some cost to their profits. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of ordered dishes and food provided for 'self service'. The manager kindly made provision for our daughter as a breakfast guest. A very comfortable lounge with newspapers, tourist information and local history books, etc. A beautiful garden and the chickens provide the eggs for breakfast, etc. You will struggle to find any business with higher standards - attention to detail. Room Tip: All rooms appear to be equally good"

"We spent 2 nights at Wallsend as we were finishing the last 2 stages of Hadrian Wall walk. Lynn the owner could not have been more welcoming, we immediately felt at home. The ensuite bedroom was very nicely decorated and furnished. The gardens are beautifully laid out. The afternoon tea and cake was lovely - and complimentary to those staying! The breakfast was superb with lots of fresh fruit and a good choice of dishes to follow. It is also only a couple of minutes walk to the village pub for supper. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return. Very highly recommended. "

"Stayed in the wigwam on 10/06/16. Great setting and surprisingly spacious pods. £30 donated to my charity bike ride 'women v cancer' which I'm cycling in November. Thank you. "

"Our final day's walk to the end of the wall was a tough one, but ending up at Wallsend Guest House made it all worthwhile. The excellent and generous pre-booked champagne afternoon tea had been saved for us (we arrived around 5pm) and we sat out in the sunshine, in the wonderful garden and celebrated our 90 miles in 5 days achievement in proper style! Everyone was friendly and welcoming, including the cats and dogs...and the bedroom was beautifully decorated and comfortable. The bathroom was wonderful, lots of lovely lotions and potions and a good bath, very welcome after the long walk. Breakfast was also wonderful. The hosts also arranged for us to be picked up the next morning in good time to catch our train from Carlisle - thank you again."

"Super hospitality. Room gorgeous with very comfortable bed and a lovely big bath to soak in. I felt totally at home. Various items were available to buy which relieved the pressure of looking around for stuff. Breakfast was great we had locally sourced salami and cheese which made a contrast to the usual full English which was also aavailable and looked tasty. A lovely place to stop"

"“Deluxe Wigwams- fantastic site” 5 of 5 starsReviewed 12 September 2015 via mobile We enjoyed a lovely few days at Wallsend Wigwams. The wigwams are the best we have stayed in, and we have stayed in several different kinds now. Complete with a toilet, shower, small kitchen, dining table, sofa and tv, as well as a double bed - these wigwams have everything you need. The site is beautifully kept and clean, and the village of Bowness- On- Solway is gorgeous. The site owners are friendly and welcoming without being over-bearing. A beautiful part of the country that we have only just started to discover. We will be back."

"“Fantastic!” 5 of 5 starsReviewed 2 weeks ago Cats, dogs and a very welcoming owner greeted my friend and me on our last night of Hadrian's Wall hiking (she may remember us as the two women who got completely distracted by the animals en route to showing us to our room). The home is beautifully restored, and sits at the edge of a very pretty village on a beautifully kept property. The room we were given had a bathtub (one of only two rooms with one), a very welcome feature, and we made good use of it. The beds were the most comfortable of our entire trip and I slept like a log. Breakfast was fantastic - we each had Eggs Hadrian. Delicious. Bowness is a lovely place and this was the perfect place to end our walk. Thank you so much, Lyn and Andy, for working so hard to make it so perfect. Your reputation precedes you for good reason! "

" am not at all surprised that this venue has won so many awards for their breakfast experience as it was fabulous. We called in here for an impromptu late breakfast at 11am on my partners birthday and the staff were welcoming, helpful and accommodating. The cooked breakfast was hot and tasty, in fact, I would say that the 3 thick slices of bacon were the best I have ever tasted, without being salty, and the plateful we had was more than sufficient for our hungry selves. The waitress came and replenished the coffee and asked if she could get us anything else. The hotel seemed to be spotlessly clean and full of character,(watch out for the bat on the stairs) ;) I loved this place and look forward to going back on my 60th birthday for a repeat performance"

"“Brilliant end to our Hadrian's Wall experience.” 5 of 5 starsReviewed 10 August 2015 A lovely guest house, the room was clean comfortable - loved the settee - and the TV was the biggest we had ever seen in a hotel room - superb. Lyn welcomed us with tea and cakes and we felt 'at home.' Breakfast was super - loved the Hadrian's Muffin. Had a look around the Wigwam area which also looked good. It really was the best end we could have had to our 10 days of walking"

"“Perfect Glaming” 5 of 5 starsReviewed 2 August 2015 Booked this for a surprise for my partners birthday. Was a lovely get away, wasn't supposed to check in until 14:30 but got there early and was shown straight to our wigwam. They girl who gave us our key was very nice and friendly, our wigwam had everything we needed! Was a little hotel room it's was very clean and well presented! Very quiet field with only 4 other wigwams! 2 members of staff helped me when I had a flat tyre to change it. They mad a fuss over my dog. Very friendly gents! Would defiantly stay here again! Was a shame about the weather but it's England! Definitely recommend! Amazing if you not a huge fan of camping like me!"
