Bowness-on-Solway and the local area is characterised by flat stretches

 with very gentle gradients around the shoreline to Port Carlisle (1mile)

and Anthorn. The road from Kirkbride to Bowness-on-Solway is similar

with slightly more rise over the inland moss area.

Cumbria Cycle Way - 260 miles circular route (on-road) around Cumbria exploring parts of the county rarely explored by tourists. Being circular it can be started anywhere on the route: Carlisle, the Eden and Lune Valleys, Morecambe Bay, the West Coast and passes through Bowness on Solway back to Carlisle.
